Tri-Town · Squirrel Mayhem

Help shape this town.

Tri-Town Squirrel Mayhem is an exploration game in development for Apple devices by jonclaude.net, inspired by Chester, Deep River, and Essex, Connecticut. It is a growing world with an original cast of unusual characters and animals.

The current iPhone and iPad preview is in testing. Public App Store downloads are not available yet. Mac and Apple TV versions are also being developed.

Touch controls

Choose a character to enter the world. The pause menu includes first person, third person following your character, a free third-person camera, and flight. You can hide the location readout to keep the view clear.

iPhone and iPad: swipe through the characters. The visible lower-left pad moves you; drag the open view to look. Tap Run to toggle faster movement. On iPhone, play in landscape. The top-right pause button opens the menu. Use two fingers to pan and pinch to zoom in the third-person and flight views. iPhone opens in landscape.

Mac: use the arrow keys and Return to choose your character. WASD walks, Shift runs, and dragging with the mouse or trackpad looks around. Escape or the Game menu pauses. The Game menu also provides camera and character shortcuts. You can play in a window or fullscreen, with keyboard and mouse or a compatible dual-stick controller.

Apple TV: a compatible dual-stick game controller is required to play. Connect it in Apple TV Settings before starting. The game pauses if the controller disconnects; reconnect it and choose Resume.

Place things through conversation

The optional Conversation connection can receive new 3D objects from the creator’s Mac. To connect, open Pause → Conversation connection and enter the code from the creator’s agent. Pairing authorizes this device to use a private world; ordinary offline exploration needs no account or pairing. The connection uses HTTPS. See the privacy policy for details of the data shared while connected.

Keep the game visible while asking the creator’s agent to place or move something. Your character's position and view tell the agent where you are in the game. The app does not listen to a microphone or read GPS. Stop moving for a moment when you want precise placement.

Saved placements and downloaded object files can be reused offline. Apple TV may remove downloaded cache files to recover storage; those files need a connection to download again. New objects need an internet connection for their first download, and the creator’s Mac must be online for new changes. If a download fails, the last successfully displayed scene remains. Keep the app open after reconnecting so it can receive the latest scene and retry. If asked, get a fresh pairing code from the creator.

To revoke this device's connection, choose Disconnect and wait for confirmation. If the app is offline, try again when connected. Successfully disconnecting stops position sharing; saved local objects remain.

Your ideas belong here

On iPhone, iPad or Mac, open Feedback in the pause menu. Choose Add a character, Add a playable character, Add an NPC, or another idea or problem. Describe it, then review and send the email to the developer. A configured email app and internet connection are needed to send. On Apple TV, use another device to email JC at the address below. Suggestions are reviewed by the creator and do not automatically appear in the game.

Help and bug reports

Email contact@jonclaude.net. Tell me your device model, operating system version, game version, and what happened. For an object that did not arrive, include the connection message and whether the game was visible. A screenshot can help. Do not send passwords, pairing codes, or Apple account details.

A world in progress

The current version includes an outdoor world of roads, hills and woods. Some buildings are interpretations or placeholders. Detailed object physics, vehicle encounters, and expanded character stories are still being developed. The included world plays offline and has no ads or purchases.
