Henry the Cursor Saves the Ducks is made by Jon Claude Haines. The game works offline and does not require a game account. It has no advertising, third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no Game Center integration.
iPhone & iPad saves
Your runs, checkpoints, high scores and settings are stored on your device. The app does not send your gameplay or saves to the developer. The iPhone and iPad version has no in-game cloud synchronization.
The app keeps a local recovery copy of saved progress. Deleting a save slot removes its run and checkpoints from the playable save list; it does not clear past high scores or promise secure erasure of every recovery or device-backup copy. Deleting the app removes its app data from the device. Apple’s device backups may retain app data according to your backup settings.
Apple TV saves and backups
Your local saves
Your runs, checkpoints, high scores and settings are stored on this Apple TV. The game keeps current and previous local save copies.
A bounded emergency copy in app preferences helps recover progress if tvOS removes cached files. If a large save no longer fits, the last fitting emergency copy is kept and may contain older progress. A storage warning means full recovery needs an iCloud backup.
Optional iCloud backup
If BACK UP TO ICLOUD is available in the main menu, you can upload all three save slots, their runs and checkpoints, and the local high-score board to your private iCloud storage. Separate app settings stay on this Apple TV.
Settings recorded inside a saved run, such as its pulse mode, travel with that run. The separate app-preferences storage is not part of the iCloud backup.
Apple handles your iCloud account and storage. The game checks which account is signed in so a pending choice cannot apply after that account changes. It does not send that account identifier to the developer.
Backups are manual. New progress stays local until you choose to back up again. Replacing an existing iCloud backup asks for confirmation. RESTORE ICLOUD BACKUP asks before replacing all three local slots and high scores. The game does not automatically synchronize with the iPhone or iPad version.
The backup is private to your iCloud account. It is not published, shared with other players, or copied to the developer’s servers. Private backup contents are not available to the developer through Apple’s developer portal. Your iCloud storage allowance and Apple’s policies apply.
Deleting saves
Deleting a slot removes its run and checkpoints from the playable save list. It does not clear past high scores or erase earlier recovery copies. It does not update an existing iCloud backup until you explicitly replace that backup.
Deleting the app removes its app data from this Apple TV. Deleting the app does not delete the iCloud backup. The game has no in-game cloud-delete command. Use Apple’s available iCloud storage controls to manage cloud data. The developer cannot erase data held only in your private iCloud account.
If you contact support
If you email contact@jonclaude.net, I receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. I use that information to answer your request and investigate the problem. My email provider processes the message to deliver and store it. Please avoid sending passwords or sensitive personal information.
Support correspondence is separate from the game's saves. Deleting a save, backup or the app does not delete an email you have sent. For questions about a support message or to request its deletion, contact me at the same address.
Apple and external websites
Apple handles App Store purchases, device backups, iCloud storage and diagnostics under Apple’s own policies and your settings. TestFlight also processes beta feedback and diagnostics through Apple. This game does not add its own analytics service. If you visit a support website or send email, that separate service handles the connection under its own privacy practices.
